Tour details | What to expect

On this flavored & mouthwatering experience, you’ll get to taste:

– The original chicken & almond Pastilla, a savory pie reserved for weddings & family get-togethers
– Yummy local pastries (Briwate, Kaab Ghzal, ..) in one of the city’s oldest bakeries
– Traditional Harira soup, accompanied by dates and Chebbakiya (Honey desert rose), like how most locals break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan
– Babbouche (Moroccan snails) slowly cooked in an aromatic herbal-infused broth
– Msemmen (Moroccan pancakes), a delicious pan-fried dough, typically spread with honey and cheese
– Authentic Moroccan mint tea
– Fakya, a mix of dried fruits and nuts that is carefully prepared and commonly shared among families & friends during celebrations
– Signature olives of Morocco, from the greens with their creamy smooth texture to the reds tossed in parsley and cilantro.

Dinner is served at a local restaurant: fresh Moroccan salad + main Tanjia (other options are available). The portions are generous, the food is wholesome & scrumptious! For dessert, we offer you Raïb, an absolutely divine and very popular homemade yogurt. Bon appétit!

Yes, even though it’s not the easiest diet to adjust for, since most Moroccan food contains wheat. You’d miss a few stops, but we’ve served many guests who were gluten-free, and they found the experience enjoyable.

Is this tour suitable for pregnant women?
Yes, the pace is moderate, and we don’t serve undercooked or raw meat, raw eggs / cheese, or alcohol on the tour.

Will I be full by the end of the tour?
The tour usually includes 13+ tastings, plus a full meal, which is enough for most of our guests to feel comfortably full by the end of the tour.

My wife and I wanted to experience the Medina in the evening to see it come alive, but we wanted to do it with a guide who could help us navigate the maze! We saw this food tour and we’re so glad that we booked!

Yaya was an absolutely brilliant guide, spoke perfect English, and took us round many different food stalls (well over 10!) where our group got to try a whole manner of authentic Moroccan foods – sweet, savoury, and snails!

We then ended the night in a nice restaurant with a three-course meal which was delicious! (Make sure you have a light lunch before going on this tour!).

All in all, this was a brilliant way to see the Medina and try foods we wouldn’t have been brave enough to try to order by ourselves. Thank you, Yaya, for being such a brilliant ambassador for Marrakech and Morocco!

Yaya the guide is an absolute legend. We loved this tour. There were so many stops and we tried so many things we never would have gone near otherwise. Great way to start our trip. Our guide spoke perfect English and answered all our questions. We tried about 10 different snacks, bites, and it was capped off with a 3 course meal at the end. We loved how there are periods of rest and tea throughout the tour to counter all the walking. It felt great to have a local guide walk you through the maze of the Medina. Quality & Quantity ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It started with a friendly guide named in short ‘Yahya’.
We started by trying Olives and it continued down along the streets of the Medina until we had tried at least 15 morsels of food, which were all excellent choices. Our guide rang ahead to each stall holder, which meant when we arrived they were waiting for us.
To top it off we saw some sites (especially the upmarket street) we didn’t know existed. After filling our bellies with the taste treats we sat down to a 3 course meal. Couldn’t complain about the quantity or the quality. Highly recommend, especially a first up tour when you arrive in Marrakech, it helps you get your bearings.
